Croozer Cargo Bike Trailer

Stock status: Ships in approx. 1-2 weeks

Overview

The Croozer Cargo is a great general purpose cargo trailer. The Croozer Cargo has plenty of space for groceries, running routine errands - like recycling - or daily commuting. With precious perishable cargo like beer or bratwurst, the key to a good cargo trailer is stability and security, and you get both in abundance with the low-profile Croozer Cargo carrier.

The frame is steel with a nylon flat-bed and a denier nylon fabric cover (which can be opened at the back for extra long cargo).

Once at your destination, the hitch arm can angle upward, transforming your trailer into a handy handcart. This feature is great when taking those final steps to your picnic area or campsite, because you can keep your casserole level, without tipping it on your picnic blanket.

The Croozer Cargo is a great economy option for use around town. The Burley Nomad is a comparable trailer that is better suited for touring and other uses where weight is a consideration. At 14.5 lbs, it is 10.5 pounds lighter than the Croozer Cargo. It also has a larger 100lbs capacity, weatherproof covers and additional beneficial features.

I've bought alot of products on line but have never felt compeled to write a review until now. I received the Croozer trailer via Fed Ex in less than one week and it was exactly as advertised. It was incredibly easy to assemble and attach to my bike (took about 20 minutes). I've used it many times now with no problems what so ever. What a great trailer for the price. My summer is going to be so much more fun this year.

First off, props to Josh of BikeTrailerShop! I had wanted this trailer for my birthday but unfortunately it was out of stock. Once it became available, Josh stayed late so that I could come pick it up after I got off of work. Great service! As for the trailer.... Assembly is almost too easy, unfold, a couple of pins here and there and you're ready to roll. I would recommend getting an extra hitch if you plan on using it with different bikes. Took it on it's maiden voyage today, a short trip to the grocery store. I've never pulled any type of trailer so I don't have anything to compare it to, however it is everything that I had expected. Loaded up about 20-30 lbs of groceries and it pulled great. I plan on using it for weekly grocery runs and any other shopping that I fit in it, trips to the park, etc and for that it seems like it will fit the bill very nicely. No complaints thus far.

I received my Croozer Cargo trailer last week by international shipment to Japan. The shipping was timely and it came as promised. I broke in the trailer by hauling a bunch of camping equipment to the park to enjoy a BBQ with friends and family. Pros: The trailer worked like a charm and fit an amazing amount of stuff (4 camping chairs, a small BBQ, a fold-up camping table with 2 benches, collapsible cooler with 2 stools, 2 utility boxes, a soccer ball, and a living room tent). It was hard to believe I was able to fit a campsite with seating for 10 people behind my bike!). It is also relatively light and, without anything inside, I had to check back a couple of times to make sure it was still there. It runs very, very smoothly and is hard to notice that it is even back there once you get going. It also takes corners like a dream. Cons: It would be nice to have welded rings on the underside of the trailer to hook on the cargo net that I needed to buy for the back (the camping chairs jetted out from the back end of the trailer). Also, a cargo net was also required over the top since I piled it over the edge of the side-walls, so rings on the under side to hook it in place would be helpful. I was able to improvise quite easliy though... Overall, a great, great product. I'm now mobile (as I have no car here in Japan) and am able to take the BBQ party wherever I like. Awesome! I highly recommend this product. Finally, the staff were a huge help in facilitating this order to Japan and were immediate in their email correspondence and assistance. Great job!

We moved. I lost the hitch for my Croozer cargo trailer and couldn't use it. Bummer! I looked online for a replacement and couldn't believe the cost of replacing it, even from Canada. Then I found BikeTrailerShop.com. Decent price, decent shipping cost and GREAT service and FAST delivery. THANK YOU!

I bought a Croozer Cargo trailer two weeks ago. My plans were to use it for short shopping trips and to transport fishing gear, etc. to the pier. Put it together yesterday. The instructions were clear and to the point. There were no liability statements such as how to use a screwdriver to prevent injury etc., just the quick easy steps for assembly. No tools were needed until I was ready to hook it up to the hitch. The retaining clip for the pin has way to much tension compared to the pins for the wheels. It took pliers to hook and unhook the clip. This is my only complaint. I used it for the grocery store, and for a trip to the pier. I forget it is on the bike. (watch making to tight of a corner.) Tomorrow my wife and I will load our lawn chairs, picnic dinner, and adult beverages on the Croozer for a trip to the free beach concert. Rating on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 11.(even with stiff retaining clip). Thanks for a great product. Art Sweany

The trailer is everything the write-up says it is and more. The Fed Ex goons played kickball with the carton on the way here so it had a problem upon opening. I was in a real bind due to previous commitments and needed the thing ASAP but it was unusable. The folks at BTS worked with me in a very flexible manner and I was able to meet with a scheduled run that I was probably shouldn't have made in the first place. During the ordeal it became obvious that the folks at BTS had noticed a possible weak point in the shipping container and had gone through some extra work to eliminate it but the Fed Ex folks found it anyway. The extra effort by BTS shows real concern for the customer. I commend the staff for the way they handled the emergency and will recommend themn to others when asked where I got the spiffy trailer. It goes behind my SUN EZ trike just wonderfully and I don;t even notice the weight. Overall and A +++ experience. Thanks! Tony

I unpacked the box and all the parts were there! In 20 minutes the trailer was hooked to my bike and I was on my way to the mid-week farmers' market, a five mile ride. The ride in was a little more difficult than usual, mostly because of the new noises. With about 6 kilos of produce, the ride back was harder but fun. Nothing came loose from the bike or the trailer. The trailer rode very well on my newly chipped and sealed country road. My car will stay in the garage more often now. Thank you.

Exactly as advertised, great for commuting to work, short trips to grocery store, etc. Pros: Well made and sturdy, easy to assemble and attach to your bike. Trails well without affecting bike handling. Cons: Probably a little heavy for a cross-country trip. (I would probably consider a single wheel inline for that). There are no internal eyelets or straps for securing small loads, they slide around the large cargo area. (My solution was to to secure a plastic milk carton type crate in the center of the cart and secure it to the bottom side rails with velcro straps.) There is not a place to attach a rear flashing light. (Solved this by attaching an old rear reflector mount and then cliping on a blinker). This is my first trailer and overall, I'm quite pleased. (My negative comments above are really minor). The purchase is a bargain, considering the BikeTrailerShop is still offering free shipping it's like knocking $25 off the price!

@Andy_in_Germany I suspect Eurobike would be even better for electric cargo bikes. I'm reminded I need to publish your #Xtracycle post.
