Cyclone II

This bicycle trailer by Radical Design of the Netherlands offers a brilliant assortment of features for bicycle touring and commuting. These features include excellent load balancing, multiple wheel positions lending to use as both a bike trailer and a walking trailer, and a uniquely designed heavy-duty fabric cargo area built into the trailer. This trailer is both rugged and light. It carries large loads both in weight (100lbs) and volume (100liters) but is lithe and long lasting.

This is a great trailer to consider for traveling and all types of commuting. A two-wheeled trailer, the Cyclone II lightens the load on the hitch (as compared to single wheel trailers) allowing the ride to be less influenced by the trailer itself. With the wheels repositioned to the rear (with the push of a button) and the hitch arm taken off (with the twist of a big bolt), the trailer turns into a duffle bag (tote) on wheels ensuring easy management in busy settings such as elevators, offices and shopping centers. The shoulder strap and the two big handles make it easy to lift. For the die hard touring cyclist, when you're ready to board a plane, train or boat, place the hitch inside and put the wheels in their separate, attacheable storage bag (sold seprately), and the Cyclone two becomes a simple to manage, self-contained duffle bag ready for check-in.

When the rain comes, the Cyclone rain cover is a lightweight solution to keep your trailer and its contents dry and clean. At only 208 grams, this small package will alway find a place in the huge Cyclone bag. When a shower comes, the cover is attached in seconds and securely velcroed around the tow-bar connector. Many people leave it on all day, no matter the weather, as its protection against dirt is just as much appreciated.

At home, the Cyclone can be stored extremely compact (36"x 20" x 8" with wheels and hitch in bag) and will easily stow away in a hall closet. On the road the duffle has a maximum volume of 100 liters, and 44 kgs(100 lbs) of weight capacity.

Connecting and disconnecting the trailer to the bike can be done in a second and with only one hand. This can be of great importance, for instance when a child is seated on the bike. The bike hitch fits on any rear axle and is made of stainless steel. It can be ordered separately to make more bikes 'Cyclone-compatible'.
