Noriel Acorda - 03/01/2009 I had a long road to the purchasing this fine trailer. I had a baby on the way, and I started thinking of bike transportation with the kiddo in tow. At first I wanted to get an Xtracycle with peapod, but they were out at the time, and no one was importing the seat from the Netherlands (also known as the Maxiplus by Bobike). I got the Xtracycle anyway, and have been very happy with it. I saw how unstable an Xtracycle can be with a full-sized adult, and opted for a trailer. I initially came up on this site last year, but they did not offer Chariot trailers then, and I was able to compare a Chariot stroller and a Burley stroller side by side in person, and there was no comparison for me- I had to get the Chariot. It took me a while to save up, but I'm so glad I went hungry those days. This thing is worth it all. I'm more or less car-free with my Xtracycle, and put many road miles on my bike. This Corsaire is built to handle all I can dish out. The CAS suspension is nice, I can barely feel the trailer when I'm towing it, and if folds down so I can save some space in my garage of bikes. My only complaints are, I wish there were a hand operated brake for when I use this as a jogger, I wish the seat had a recline option, and I had to get rid of one of my left wideloader due to the hitch. I don't have a jogger or stroller kit yet, but this thing is effortless to pull around by the strap on the hitch. If you're a casual biker and only stick to parks and paths, then I guess any of the other child carriers on this site will work. But if you're trying to find ways to weather proof your child carrier and add more reflective material for night cycling, then this is the trailer/company for you. This is the biggest trailer Chariot makes, and I love the extra room it gives my kid in the back. This trailer's had more miles on it than most bikes since Aug '08! |
