Burley Forged Standard Hitch (qr & nutted axles)

***Recommended for most bikes using both quick releases and nutted axle rear wheel hubs.
The newly designed Burley Standard Hitch offers a light weight design that is easy to install and use with almost any bike.

The standard hitch is secured in place by the bicycle hub's rear quick-release or nutted axle.

Install the standard hitch onto a quick release rear hub by inserting the quick-release through it first and then installing the quick release as normal. When the quick release is tightened into the bike's rear dropout's the aluminum bracket is also clamped into position.

Install the standard hithc onto a nutted axle by putting it over the nutted axle and then tightening the nut onto it. When the nut is tightened into the bike's rear dropout's the aluminum bracket is also clamped into position.

(The Standard Hitch will work on most bicycles with a quick-release including full-suspension mountain bikes and bikes with disc brakes.)

We offer the flex connector/safety-strap kit as an option for the Standard Hitch. This kit includes the the flex connector, strap, the lock pin and the bolt for connecting the trailer's flex connector to the trailer's hitch arm. Only one flex connector/safety-strap kit is needed per trailer. If you are purchasing additional hitches for using your trailer on multiple bikes, you will not need another flex connector/safety-strap kit. If you are upgrading your trailer's hitch from the Classic Hitch, you will need a new safety strap assembly so you should get a flex connector/safety-strap kit .

Please Note the following:
The flex connector connects the hitch to the tongue of the trailer and is available for the round tongue or square tongue hitch arms.
Burley recommends that you replace the flex connector every five years.
Most 2007 trailers have the new square tongue.
Pre-2007 trailers have the round tongue.
