The Xtracycle FreeRadical is a Hitchless Bike Cargo Trailer. Essentially an extension to the rear triangle of your bicycle, it provides a multi-configuration platform for carrying cargo or a passenger. Join the revolution and do it on your bike!
 Xtracycle Setup
The Xtracycle mounts to your bike in the position where your rear wheel is normally located. The Xtracycle is bolted onto a bike's rear dropouts and chainstay. The rear bike wheel is then installed on the rear dropouts of the Xtracycle. In this position the rear wheel is extended 15" behind its normal position, providing a very stable base for carrying cargo or passengers.
All Xtracycles kits our built around the Free Radical base kit which includes the Free Radical Frame with cantilever and disc brake mounts, extra long brake & shifter cables, mounting hardware, and a kick stand (everything needed for installation to your bike).
We offer Xtracycle Kits with the following configurations:
-The standard LongTail Kit (aka FreeLoader Kit) includes 2 V-Racks, 1 Snap Deck and 2 FreeLoader Saddle Bags.
-The Adventure Kit includes 2 Adventure Racks, 1 TekDeck, 2 Cam Straps and 1 or 2 pair of Watchamacollars.
-Or you can order just the Free Radical Base Kit without either of the add-on kits and set up your own carrying system.
Additionally you can add accessories such as WideLoaders, LongLoaders and Footsies to expand the use and capacity of your Xtracycle.
Xtracycle Chain
The Xtracycle installation requires the use of a longer 86" chain. For setting up an Xtracycle you can choose between a 30" (6/7/8 speed) chain extension, an 86" (6/7/8 speed) replacement chain or an 86" (9 speed) replacement chain.
